"This compilation is named after and inspired by
the great Slim Gaillard's recording of "Jumpin' At The Record Shop".
The song is a celebration of the Record Shop of the 1940s with it's racks of 78's -
the only format available. In the 40s there were no 7" 45's,no vinyl LPs,no cassettes
and certainly no CDs.10" shellac 78s was the only choice.

In his song Slim celebrates the record collector's joy of flicking through records
and presents a roll call of all the great artists that can be found in his ideal store. Most of them are featured in this unique collection representing the cream of
jazz and pops hit makers of the Thirties and Forties."
